Current Bid: The current bid is the amount entered by the
highest bidder. If there are no bidders or only one bidder,
the current bid is the same as the start price.
Time Left: The number of days remaining until the closing date.
Countdown Ticker: This calculator uses Java to calculate the hours and seconds till closing time. This is useful when placing a bid close to closing time.
High Bidder: This is the person with the current high bid,
in other words, the person currently winning the auction. If no bidders have joined the auction yet, this area is blank.
Number of Items: If this value is more than 1, it means there's more than one of the same item on sale, and each item is being auctioned separately. When bidding, you will be prompted to enter a quantity and a bid amount. The quantity is the number of items you're bidding on and the bid amount is the price you will pay for each item.
Number of Bids: The number of bids placed for this item since auction start. This includes multiple bids by the same person.
Started at: This indicates the starting price entered by the seller at the beginning of the auction.
Bid Increment: The bid increment is automatically determined by the starting price.
(Example: Any item with a current price within the
range of $5.00 - $24.99 will have a bid increment of $.50. For more details, please refer to
"What are the bid increments?".)
The minimum amount you can bid is equal to the current price plus the bid increment.
(Example: If the current price is $20.00 and the bid increment is
$0.50 then the minimum amount you can bid is $20.50.)
Location: This is the location from which the item will be shipped.
Opened: The date and time when the auction opened.
Closes: The date and time when the auction closes.
ID #: This value is created automatically by Yahoo!'s system when the item is first offered for bidding.
Notes: A number of possible notes may be displayed here. These are options selected by the seller. Please refer below for their meaning:
- Auction may/does not get automatically extended -
This message indicates whether or not the 5-minute extension option
is turned on. When it's turned on, the auction closing time is automatically extended
for 5 extra minutes if a bid is placed within the last 5 minutes of the auction. If
this is not turned on, the auction will end at the posted closing time.
- Seller can close auction early - If the seller is satisfied with the
current "High Bid," and wishes to sell the item to the current "High Bidder"
as soon as possible, the seller can close the auction before the posted
closing time.
- The seller also has a reserve price - This means that the seller
has set a private minimum price (greater than the starting price) that they are willing to sell for.
If no one bids higher than the reserve price, then there is no "high bidder" or winner for the auction.
- There is a buy price on this auction of: $--.-- -
The auction will automatically close when a bidder meets the specified buy price.
- Seller will ship internationally- The seller is willing to ship the item outside of Canada.
